So, you're going to live on campus at the University of Miami. No worries, you'll be in great hands. Each of the seven residential colleges on campus are staffed with a residence coordinator and resident assistants to help with anything you'll need.

A residence coordinator is a professional staff member that oversees the daily administrative needs of their college. They also oversee the residential assistants and other student staff.

Resident assistants are student leaders on campus. Each resident assistant is assigned a floor where they live and manage student affairs.

Their responsibilities can range from organizing study groups or planning a trip to the Everglades, but they're also there to solve problems, such as how to handle or resolve roommate conflicts. Resident assistants are available 24 hours a day to help meet the needs of students.

Both residence coordinators and resident assistants work together to make ensure that students have the best possible experiences while living in the residential colleges.

They share common goals such as helping students successfully transition into UM life, helping them achieve academic success and creating an environment where students can feel as if dorm life is a home away from home.
